This long, wide zebrawood plank stood in our lumber rack for well over twenty years before a worthy design came to mind. The single wide piece was mitered multiple times and rejoined into a zigzag pattern that not only provides a desk top, intriguing side shelves, a dovetail shape to hold a drawer, but also the structural integrity of the piece. The accompanying Akira Rocking Chair shares the splined miter’s clean strength. This uniquely small rocking chair allows for multiple sitting positions: tilting forward to write, backwards, to contemplate, consider or relax.

46 x 15 x 32 — Ebony, Holly, Burl Maple

This cabinet, inspired by the Art Deco designer, Jacques Rhulmann, was created using a private stash of wood including midu burl, guinea wood, ebony and holly. This jewel like piece was outfitted to be used as a jewelry cabinet.

This cabinet was inspired by the legendary dancer Fred Astaire. It was made from figured maple and ebony.
